Parking
  • There are no designated accessible parking bays on site.
  • Parking is in the unmarked grass car park near the main entrance. It has some slopes and uneven sections.
  • People with mobility difficulties may be dropped off in the front entrance drive leading to the main entrance gates.
  • With prior arrangement, they may also be dropped off inside grounds near the main path.
  • There is a level surface between the bitumen drive and the paved footpath. It has some small uneven sections.

External access and entrance
  • The approach to the turf club is via a wide, level bitumen walkway. Double entrance gates are wide and provide a level entry.
  • A 1.8 metre wide paved path links the grandstand, main bar, grandstand bar, office, Trackside Café and elevator.

Internal area
Main Bar
  • The spacious outdoor main bar is sheltered with a roof and shade sails.
  • It is set over concrete and a paved surface that is generally level.
  • Bar is 1.1 metres high.
  • The dining and mingling area adjacent to the main bar is also sheltered.
  • Circular tables are 90 cm high. Plastic chairs have arm rests.
Winning Post Bar
  • The spacious, open bar is located underneath the grandstand.
  • It is set over a concrete surface and has high bar tables and stools.
  • Bar is 1.6 metres high.
Grandstand
  • Stairs and a ramp lead to the grandstand.
  • The stairs and ramp have handrails on both sides. Stairs do not have colour contrasting step edges.
  • Three steps lead to the ramp which has a gradient of 1:9. Two more steps beyond the ramp lead to a grassed area.
  • There is a change in direction and then more steps lead to grandstand seating. Steps have handrails.
  • Seating is bench style seating without arm rests.

Cafe, dining and food outlet
  • The Trackside Café is located underneath the grandstand.
  • The accessible entrance is also underneath the grandstand near the bar. There are double doors 83 cm wide when one door is open and a level entry.
  • The café is spacious and has a vinyl floor. The counter has a lowered section which is 87cm high.
  • Round tables have central pedestals which may obstruct some wheelchair footplates. Plastic chairs do not have arm rests.
  • There are also low couches with arm rests and firm cushioning.
Alfresco area
  • The alfresco area is set over a paved floor.
  • It has standard size picnic style tables with bench seating. Space for wheelchairs at the ends of the tables is limited.

Toilet: Bunbury Turf Club Main Accessible Toilet

  • Gender: Unisex
  • Description: The information below relates to the unisex accessible toilet, located near the Trackside Café and grandstand. Two bins inside the cubicle limit space.
  • Signage: There is limited directional signage to the toilet however the unisex accessible toilet is clearly identified with the access symbol.
  • External access: The toilet is located off a wide paved path. There is a 1.3 metres wide and 1.3 metres long ramp linking the path with the toilet entrance. It has a gradient of 1:4. Another path 1.3 metres wide leads from a different direction to the toilet. It is undercover and has a gradient of 1:25 on approach.
  • Toilet door: The sliding cubicle door is 86 cm wide and is heavy to open and slow to close. It has a D handle and no lock.
  • Pan height: 42 cm
  • Handrails: Provided.
  • Basin height: 64 cm
  • Lighting: Light on at all times.
  • Baby change table: Yes
  • Baby change table description: A wall mounted, fold down baby change table with the handle 1.2 metres high. The table is 90cm high when unfolded.

Toilet: Member's Area Unisex Accessible Toilet

  • Gender: Unisex
  • Description: The information below relates to the unisex accessible toilet, located in the foyer of the member’s area in the grandstand.
  • Signage: There is limited no signage to the toilet however the unisex accessible toilet is clearly identified with the access symbol.
  • External access: The toilet is located off the entrance foyer to the member’s area. The foyer is wide and spacious.
  • Toilet door: The swing cubicle door is 83 cm wide and is heavy to open and fast to close. It has a D handle and a large twist lock.
  • Pan height: 45 cm
  • Handrails: Provided.
  • Basin height: 80 cm
  • Lighting: Light switch is 1 metre high.

Lifts

Bunbury Turf Club lift

  • A lift located in the Trackside Cafe underneath the grandstand.
  • Levels serviced by lift: The lift provides access from the ground floor to the members’ area of the grandstand.
  • Assistance or independently operable: The lift is kept unlocked and customers can use the lift independently.
  • External controls: The controls are 1 metre high and illuminate when pressed.
  • Door type: The lift is a single entry with automatic opening doors.
  • Door width: 89cm
  • Platform size: The lift car is 1.1 metres wide and 1.4 metres deep.
  • Internal controls: The controls are at standing height of 1.2 metres high and are in good colour contrast.

Rooms

Member's Area
  • The carpeted members area is located on the top floor of the grandstand. It has lift access.
  • There is a single swing door 84 cm wide that is heavy to open and fast to close. It has a D handle and a small lip at entry.
  • Entrance foyer is carpeted and spacious. There is a second door 88 cm wide that is usually held open during business hours.
  • The members area has a view over the race track. The bar is 1.2 metres high.
  • There are trestle style tables 75cm high with 61 cm knee clearance.
  • There are plastic chairs and cushioned chairs that do not have arm rests.  There are also bar tables and stools.

Office
  • A single swing door 76cm wide that is heavy to open and fast to close. It has a small step at entry.
  • The office is carpeted and has a counter that is high standing height.
