Schoenstatt Shrine, Armadale

  • A small shrine that is an exact replica of the original German Schoenstatt Shrine

Opening Hours
  • Daily 7.00am to 8.00pm for private prayer.
  • Holy Mass every Friday at 10.00am.

  • There are no designated accessible parking bays.
  • Parking is in unmarked bays in a level bitumen car park.
  • Access to the Shrine is along a 30 metre long and 1.2 metre wide concrete path that is sloped in sections.

External access and entrance
There is a 7cm step at the door. A wooden portable ramp, the width of the door, can be set in place when requested.
The wooden entrance door is 1 metre wide and heavy to open. There is a lever door handle.

Small inside with a 97cm sloped central aisle to the alter.
Moveable wooden pews with 1.2 metre width space at the rear that would accommodate wheelchairs.

Toilet: Unisex accessible toilet at Emilie House Learning Centre

  • Gender: Unisex
  • Availability: Could be used on request when the Learning Centre is not in use.
  • Customer use only: Yes
  • Description: This toilet has two entrances, one from inside Emilie House and one from the external verandah.
    The house is 100 metres along an internal roadway and up a small steep ramp to the connecting path and ramp.
  • Signage: Emilie House has clear directional signs.
  • External access: The concrete ramp leading to the house is 7 metres long with no handrails and an average gradient of 1:6.
  • Main entrance: Entrance into the spacious house is via an 80cm wide door and down an 80 cm wide corridor to the toilet. The outside entrance is off a wide covered verandah.
  • Toilet door: The inside door is 67cm wide with a lever handle and a large lock. The door is light to open and has no closing mechanism. The outside door is level, 90cm wide with a lever handle.
  • Pan height: 42cm
  • Handrails: Yes
  • Basin height: 72cm
  • Lighting: A light switch in toilet 1.3 metres high.
