External access and entrance
- There is 16 metres of car park roadway and kerb ramp with a 2 cm lip at the top from the accessible parking bays to the museum. There is also a slope 12 metres long with a gradient of 1:20 down to the museum entrance.
- Entrance door is wide and automatic opening, with a spacious entry foyer.
- Museum entry is through a 90cm wide door that is held open. There is an 2cm lip at the door.

Internal area
- A low reception desk is located next to the door where staff or volunteers are available to assist visitors.
- The Museum Curator reports that the wide aisles are kept clear to ensure wheelchair and pram access.
- Seating is provided.
- There is circulation space for users of wheelchairs and walking aids to view displays in all rooms. A mix of carpet and tiled flooring is provided throughout.
- There is a 3 cm lip at the 90 cm wide door leading onto the Courtyard where there are additional displays. This door is often held open. It is light to open and has a knob handle.

Signage, customer displays and customer information
- The external sign has bronze coloured capital letters on a wooden plaque placed above the museum door.
- Information throughout the museum has a large print, mostly with a clear colour contrast.
- Historical displays are mostly at sitting height, with some at ground and standing heights.
